14 Keith Earls: Took both his tries well and looked dangerous every time he got onto the ball. 7

13 Garry Ringrose: A promising showing from Ireland's gifted young gun, capped by a fine late try. 7

12 Robbie Henshaw: Kept his discipline to run the hard lines and create gaps for his team-mates. 7

11 Simon Zebo: Provided plenty of openings for his team-mates by cutting in well off his wing. 7

10 Paddy Jackson: A flawless day with the boot and a fine effort with ball in hand too. 8

9 Conor Murray: Kept Ireland ticking over by moving Italy around with fast, smart play. 8

1 Cian Healy: Scrummaged well and carried hard early on as Ireland softened up their hosts. 8

2 Niall Scannell: A good debut from the Munster man who was rushed into the starting line-up at the last minute. 8

3 Tadhg Furlong: Dominated Italy from the off at the scrum and worked tirelessly elsewhere. 8

4 Donnacha Ryan: Yellow card was the only blip on an otherwise solid performance on the Munster man's return. 7

5 Devin Toner: Bossed the lineout as expected but also fought to put himself about the pitch. 7

6 CJ Stander: The clear man of the match battered Italy every time he had the ball, and his hat-trick proved a fine reward. 9

7 Sean O'Brien: A gritty effort from the flanker with Italy unable to live with his physicality and drive. 8

8 Jamie Heaslip: Stepped in at the last as captain and showed all the leadership required to pilot Ireland's easy win. 8

Replacements: Ireland's bench all brought something different to the party late on – none more so than wing Craig Gilroy, who was able to bag himself a late hat-trick as Italy imploded in the closing stages.
