Griezmann being linked with a move to Manchester United once more
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is planning an audacious swoop to sign Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann and Everton’s Romelu Lukaku this summer, according to a report.
Sunday World reporter Ken Lawrence has an exclusive in Saturday's Sun newspaper claiming United are determined to solve their goals scoring woes by signing two of the hottest strikers in European football.
Griezmann has been persistently linked with United for the last few months, even though the France striker has hinted in the media that he is unsure whether he would want to move to Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, Mourinho's links with a move for Lukaku would raise a few eyebrows after the Portuguese tactician opted to sell the Belgian marksman during his time as Chelsea manager.
The combined fee for Griezmann and Lukaku may stretch past the £150m mark, but United look certain to have plenty of cash reserves this summer as they prepare to off-load a host of fringe players.
Captain Wayne Rooney is expected to leave United this summer and removing his £300,000-per-week wage bill will free up space for fresh signings.
Luke Shaw and Anthony Martial are also being tipped to leave United, while doubts remain over the future of leading scorer Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
We may only be in April, but already the 'silly season' for transfer rumours is underway.
